We took a trip up to NY this past weekend to visit the in-laws, and to participate in their neighborhood garage sale. Not only did we sell a ton of stuff, but I also got a ton of pictures :)
I am taking Understanding Exposure online over at PPSOP, and this week talked about storytelling compositions and isolation compositions. The above I used as my storytelling. I totally get sunny summer day running through a field of wild flowers. How about you? I made a few tweaks using TRA on the green and the blue. No, that isn't SOOC, lol. Since my shoreline shot, I've really come to appreciate the greatness of the wide angle lens! I don't even think it looked that good in real life! I used this as my isolation...
I really like this one because I worked really hard to fine a "natural" frame for it. Also, I was searching for natural vignetting as well. I only slightly tweaked the sharpness and curves in this one. I used my 28-135 lens at 135mm f/5.6. This would have been the prefect situation to use a 70-200mm lens. I wish I had one. Too bad we took a trip to Disney for our anniversary. It would have been the perfect gift. I guess I'll have to settle for Harry Potter and dinner instead :)
On our trip, I had a great time walking around on my own, just exploring, experimenting, doing and undoing. It was great. I hope I have more opportunities in the future to step outside, away from the girls for an hour or so, to just shoot.
Have a happy Tuesday! I'm heading over to the gym to sign up tonight. I actually squeezed into my size 8 jeans today, and it has TOTALLY inspired me to take off that last 15 lbs (I thought it was 20 but I'm dropping down pretty quick now that I am weening).
