I feel like it has been raining here for 3 straight weeks. It just won't stop. There has been so much rain, that the flowers in my garden are actually rotting a bit. That is saying something, since we live in a moist area to begin with (hello, NJ was built on a swamp), so all my plants are ones that love moisture. Yesterday, there was a small break in the rain (but not in the clouds), so we headed outside for a bit to explore.

Before we moved into our house, the septic system was replaced, and the grass they laid didn't take. For awhile, our front yard was just one big mud puddle. Now, a gazillion different types of moss have started to grow, and our "lawn" is a soft blanket in a patchwork of green. We had fun running around barefoot :) By the way, both of the above shots are SOOC except for minor cropping.
And, here is another SOOC shot from father's day.

Matt has been studying non stop for the past 2 weeks for an exam on "green" building (which he passed this morning, yay Matt!!), but we decided to give him a tiny break and headed to a "local" aquarium for the afternoon. I was working on my silhouettes, but I think they didn't come out so well because there was a lot of ambient light in the room, and I didn't have my aperture small enough. I think this is at f/5.6 and I should have been at f/8 or f/11.
Ok, back to the fun outside pictures. Thaya love to play with rocks, and to discourage her from pulling apart my rock wall that is holding my garden together, I poured some river rocks in her favorite "searching" spot. Success! Dirty old garden rocks completely ignore, shiney smooth river rocks played with for hours!
And that's all I have for you today. I have an "event" that I am presenting at this afternoon, and hoping beyond hope that I get some new clients out of it. Wish me luck! I'll try to sneak in a picture or two, but I have to be careful because I don't know that I'll get a lot of model releases. Ok, anyway...
Happy Friday!
