I absolutely love the summer, but I love summer sales even more. There is something about getting the best spot at the mall and wandering around aimlessly touching and admiring that will brighten up just about any day for me. I love it just as much as I love going to a yarn store. I love looking at clothes, looking at people buying clothes, and buying clothes myself. Mmmmm. shopping.
Speaking of shopping, I need to buy some yarn for a baby gift. I'm thinking about making a little dress for my brother's new baby. I was thinking maybe the Debbie Bliss jumper with the little sheep on it. Too cute.
So, listen to this. This guy who works with my husband has a bunch of sheep so that he can consider his land a farm. They sheer the sheep and throw bags and bags and bags of wool away. WHY?! I was shocked. I had my husband march right in there and ask for it. The guy say "yea sure, we just throw it away anyway". I'm thrilled. Even though I don't know much about the type of sheep or the kind of wool they have, it would still be great to practice spinning on, I would think. We'll find out.
So, in preparation of this inheritance, I've settled on a wheel. I'm going to purchase the Kromski Symphony. I've read many good reviews and I think it would be a good place to start. Hurrah!
Oh, I only have 4 more rows left on my "field of flowers" shawl. I'll finish it one of these days.
Pictures? Maybe someday soon, but not today.
