My goodness!

All of the people in my family are SO funny!  I've been awake a lot more, and in the morning I just love to smile!  I can't get over how silly my family is.  I bet I'll grow up to be just like them :)

Check-up

Img_0057 I had my second doctors appointment yesterday.  These appointments are not very fun, they poke me, pull me, and shine lights in my ears and eyes.  Yesterday was the worst so far - I ended up getting my second Hep B vaccine.  Not. Fun. At. All.

What was fun was finding out how much I have grown.  Mommy and Daddy couldn't believe how much I had grown at my second week appointment.  We were all on the edge of our seats for this appointment.

Last appointment, I was:

6 lbs 8 oz
19.5 inches long

This appointment, I was:

8lbs 12 oz
21.25 inches long

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!  We couldn't either.  No wonder I am out growing all of my newborn clothes!  Mommy must be doing a good job of feeding me...

I'm supposed to be doing this right now, so I'd better go.  Don't forget to leave me a comment to let me know you stopped by!!

I've been busy!

Img_0953 Img_0980Img_0988Last weekend I took a  met lots of people in my family.  I met my Uncles, Roger, Mike, and Nate.  I also met some of my cousinstrip to MD - my first big trip!  I  from CA, and Gigi - my great-grandmother.  I was also able to welcome Aunt Jackie to the family! We had such a fantastic time, but it was a little scary being in a new place for the first time.  Mommy and Daddy ddid a good job of making me feel safe.

Img_0998 After we got home from MD, I had a lot of things to get caught up on.  First, I needed to take my first real bath.   I started out in the bath seat (you can see a little bit of it in the picture), but I'm still too tiny for it, so I was sliding all over the place.  Mommy decided it would be better just to hold me in the water.  What a great idea!  While mommy held me, daddy soaped me up and rinsed me off.  They did a great job, I smelled great afterwards!  I really liked laying in the water.  Mommy held my head and let my body float around... she moved me back and forth through the warm water.  I couldn't help but kick my legs and smile!

Img_1012 I also had to hang out with daddy for a little bit when we got home.   I know it is obvious from this picture - but really I love him SO MUCH!  He is so much fun.  Whenever I am with him, I can't help but smile.  Sometimes I really want to laugh out loud, but I'm not sure how to make the noise just yet, so I just breath really heavy instead.  I'm so lucky to have such a COOL dad!

Img_1041 My Godmother, Giovanna, came over this past weekend.  She is SO nice, I love her already!  She held me and rocked me and talked to me for a really long time.  I can't wait until she comes back again!  On Mother's Day, Daddy asked Mommy what she wanted to do, and Mommy said she wanted to take a trip to the beach!  So, that is where we spent Mother's Day.  Img_1046I know Mommy had a great time.  Our first stop was the Chowda Hut - Mommy Img_1050and Daddy love their soup!  After that, we walked to the bay, went to one of Mommy's favorite shops, and tImg_1053hen walked along the beach.  We had a fantastic, laid back day.  I spent most of the time snuggled up sleeping.  It didn't matter if I was cuddled with Mommy or Daddy - I was comfy!!   Daddy and I also gave Mommy two books - the new Yarn Harlot book and Sarah Dallas Knitting.  She loves both of them! Daddy also gave Mommy a diaper-free day!!

I have one more piece of important news.  Mommy and Daddy have been giving me my daily dose of tummy-time, and I'm getting strong!  Last night and this afternoon I lifted my head and did some mini-push-ups.  Then, this afternoon (right after I lifted my head) I rolled over from my tummy to my back!!  I must been doing a good job eating and working on my muscles, I'm turning into one strong baby!  Look, I even have proof!

Lookin' Good!

Img_0877I had my first trip to the doctor's yesterday.  As you can see from this picture, I was a little shell-shocked  from start to finish - like a deer in headlights.

I woke up a little late, but mommy did a good job of bundling me up and getting me ready to go.  I wore a cute little pink onsie, a hand knit sweater hand-me-down from my uncle and aunt, and of course, the blanket and hat mommy knit for me before I was born.

Daddy loaded me into the car and off we went!  Mommy took this picture of me during the one second I was awake in the car.  I tell yah, the seat and the ride is a one-way ticket to napville for me!

The appointment went great.  Mommy and Daddy were so proud of me!  At 11 days old, I weighed 6lbs 8 0z (I was born at 6lbs, I left the hospital at 5lbs 10 oz.  The doctor was expecting me to have lost weight, not gained a pound!!) and I measured 19.5 inches long (19.25 at the hospital).   They did my head circumference too, but I don't remember that measurement.  Who really cares anyway?

I was happy when it was all over.  I didn't get to go home though.  Granny came down a little bit after we got home, and next thing I knew, I was back in the seat and we were off to the mall.  My first shopping trip!  I did great.  2 feedings, 3 diapers, a dress, pair of shoes, and lots of naps later, we made it home.  Boy, was mommy tired!  I had slept the whole time though, so of course I stayed up most of the evening.  Its ok though, it helped me sleep for most of the night.

I have been sleeping for about 3 hours at night, so I feed around 12, 3, and 6.  Really not that bad, considering.  Last night I ate at 8, 1, and 5:30.  Can you believe it?? I must have been really really tired!

I had a lot of fun yesterday, but I have been really sleepy today.  This was one of the brief moments that I was awake today.  Mommy is always making me smile, and daddy almost has me laughing!

Mommy and daddy asked the doctor if he had any reservations in me going to MD for Uncle Mike and Aunt Jackie's wedding this weekend.  He said everything looks great, I'm one good lookin' kid!  I can't wait.  Mommy even got me some fancy ruffle-butt tights for me to wear!  I can't wait to meet the rest of the family.  Everybody better wash their hands though, I'm still only 2 weeks old!!

Can't wait to show you pictures from the wedding!

Love,
Thaya
