Sweet Baby

Another page by my Mama. I hope you don't mind me posting these here! She spent a lot of time on them and wants to share them with you :) I hope you like them! It just so happens that I'm the theme of most of them!

Our Trip

Mama and Dada took my on a trip to Washington, D.C. this week. I've had such a great time! We've been very busy, but I've still gotten in all my naps so I've been in a great mood. My favorite part of the trip has been scurrying into the bathroom and hitting the toilet seat and the side of the tub. The tub makes a great slapping sound, but the toilet seat is where the real action is. Man, I could just hit this thing all day. Mama only lets me do it now and again and mutters something about "other hotel guests" and "can't believe I'm letting you play with a toilet seat". It's OK Mama, relax!

Don't you just love my bathing suit? My Granna found it for me. I don't think you can see in this picture, but it has a little skirt. When Mama put it on me this morning, I couldn't stop rubbing my belly. The cherries are kinda bumpy and the material is so smooth! If you look at it just right, it even sparkles! Thanks Granna!

Before I go, aren't you just so excited for Valentine's Day? I am! My Nana got me the cutest outfit and a bib! One thing is for sure, I'm wearing my new outfit out this week. I think Mama has a doctor's appointment on Tuesday, the perfect time to show it off!

Well, hope you all have a nice weekend. We'll be in D.C. another day at least. We're going to some Mall tomorrow, but Mama says it isn't for shopping. A Mall that isn't for shopping? What is she thinking!?

Love,
Thaya Rose

Wow!

Img_2653
Hi Everyone!  I hope you all are having a happy and healthy start to the new year!  I am, especially now that the Giants are Super Bowl champs!

I've been a busy little girl.  I'm rolling, crawling, cruising, standing, talking, and so much more!  I have 5 words right now, and I actually said a sixth this morning!  My words are Dada, Mama, Yay, Yum, and Kitty.  This morning I said "bye" to Dada as he was leaving for work!  Mama and Dada were so proud of me :)

I'm going to be walking soon too, but I've decided to give Mama a little bit more rest first.  I'm experimenting with standing without support, and I'm leaning forward, finding my center of balance.  This weekend I even picked up my foot, but then I changed my mind and sat back down.  If someone is around to hold my hand, all I want to do is walk!  It is so much fun :)

I also learned how to climb up the stairs.  Mama has to keep a very close eye on me now!

I have 4 teeth now, and I have 2 more that are just about ready to cut.  I love stuffed animals, and I love crawling around the house after Mama and Dada :)

Well, time to go.  I'm still taking 2 naps a day, and if I'm late for this one, I won't have much fun this afternoon.

Love,
Thaya

7 Months

There are a lot of things that I can do now at 7 months that I was unable to do at 6.  Many of these things happened within the past week!

As Dr. B says,

Img_2289

I have completed "phase one" in self beautification.

I am also a big fan of my mesh feeder.

Img_2290

My mommy puts lots of foods in it that I'm not old enough to eat yet, like teething biscuits and big chunks of fruit.  I love munching on the mesh, and it is such a relief to my sore, swollen gums.  I've cut my two bottom teeth and I'm working on my top ones.  It will be a race between the front and laterals.  Both have bumps showing already!

I'm also crawling, and pushing myself up to sitting.  I love crawling to my toys, and crawling to Mama and Dada for cuddles.

I'm saying "Mama", and "Dada", and I'm starting to learn who they are and that I can call them by saying those words at the right time.  Though I'm not very good at saying "Hi", I've got the /h/ down and make the sound while I wave.  When I see people clapping or hear people say "yay!" I clap too!  I also say "yay" but it comes out like a high pitch squeel.  I also love to give Mommy and Daddy "high-fives".

My favorite game is the various renditions of "peek-a-boo"  I love having a towel or blanket over my face and then mommy and daddy lift it up fast.  It is SO funny!  I also get very concerned when my toys "disappear".  Mommy is very good at finding them.  And finally, I love looking for the kitty cats.  Whenever my mommy says "where's the kitty?" I know to look around for them.  They already have realized I'm mobile, and don't stay in one place for too long.

I think the best part of being 7 months old is that since I am crawling and pushing myself to sitting, I know I can get my hands on anything that I want if I'm quick enough.  The world has really opened up to me :)

Well, I'm really looking forward to Thanksgiving.  We're spending it at Granna's house.  I get to see Uncle Roger, Uncle Mike, Aunt Jackie, Grandy, Granna, and my Great Grandmother.  I'm sad that I won't be able to see Nana, Grandpa and Uncle Justin this week, but I'm looking forward to seeing them soon.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Halloween

Halloween was so much fun.  I spent most of the day lounging and playing with Granny while Mommy did some stuff for her class.  I was so excited for Halloween, look at the cute outfit that Nana gave me to wear for the big day...

Img_2241

As you can also see from this picture, I spent a lot of time looking out the window waiting for the kids to arrive.  While I waited, I also tried to steal all the candy from Granny's cute witch b asket...

Img_2249

Before I could get my hands on anything good, Mommy snatched me up and started putting this big, soft, yellow thing on me.  I had a great time wrestling with her, I sure liked kicking, squirming, and laughing as she struggled!  In the end I gave in because, don't tell Mommy but, I secretly loved the big, soft, yellow thing.  See...

So much fun!

I also had a visit from Aunt Giovanna.  I haven't seen her in awhile.  She brought me the cutest Snoopy, I absolutely love it!  In fact, I was giggling with Mommy on the floor a few minutes ago because Snoopy kept attacking my belly!  Don't worry, I showed Snoopy whose boss by sucking on his nose and biting his tail.  He won't try anything silly like that again.

I hope you all had a Happy Halloween too!  What's up next?  6 month shots tomorrow :( followed by Mommy's Birthday Month Extravaganza!  Oh yea, we take this whole birthday thing very seriously at our house.

which was after Nana, Grandpa, Mommy, Daddy, and I all went apple picking!  I think out of everything, the apple picking was my favorite.  See...

Whew, what a busy weekend!

I am so happy that Nana and Grandpa were here.  They were able to see how much I've grown!  I am getting *SO* good at sitting, rolling, and even... wait for it... crawling!  I'm up on my hands and knees and moving!  Maybe just a little bit every once-in-awhile, but it is moving none the less.  That's not all they saw though!  I've cut two teeth, so they have also witnessed me try to eat everything in sight.

There is one thing they missed though.  It is something that, until recently, only Mommy and Daddy were able to witness if they were lucky.  They were never quick enough with the camera or phone to have proof of this amazing event.  Are you ready?  I hope so!  Here it is...

Hope you enjoy it, and Happy Fall!

5 Months...

Well, last week I had my 5 month birthday.  I can't believe how fast time goes by when you are busy growing, smiling, and having fun.  I've been a busy girl this past month, and I can do a whole bunch of things that I wasn't able to do at 4 months.

Now I can:

Push myself up on my arms while on my belly

Raise my arms and legs simultaneously while on my belly (you know, it sort of looks like I am flying that way)

Flip over from my back to my belly (over and over again at night.  When are mommy and daddy going to take the hint that 1) I like sleeping on my belly and 2) If I'm strong enough to flip over, it is ok if I sleep that way)

Use my thumb and forefinger to pick up objects

Get any object my little heart desires into my mouth with lightening speed and precision

Hold my head up when I'm raised to sitting from laying

Sit up with support

Stand  up with support

Open my mouth when I want food, or close it tight when I don't want anymore

There are also a ton of new vocalizations that I have been doing.  I love my P's, V's, M's, D's and I do lots of combinations of vowels and consenants

I also have belly-laughed twice, but I'm not ready to do it all the time just yet

Img_19331

I'm also teething, and if you aren't careful, I might try to eat you!

In other news, Auntie Steph got married this weekend.  It was amazing.  I went out with all the girls on Friday, and I got ready at the house with them on Saturday!  I had so much fun with Auntie Steph, I'm so happy she had the time to snuggle.  I fell right asleep in her arms at lunch on Friday, I couldn't help it, she knows all the right moves!  She made such a beautiful bride, I'm sure she is going to have a lifetime of happiness and then some with her hubby.

Img_19061

This picture is a little dark, but you get the point.  She looked amazing.  Also, her eyes don't normally glow, it is just 'cause there were flashes going off like crazy with people trying to get her picture!

While Mommy and Daddy were at the wedding, I got to spend time with Nana.  We had such a great time, I love her so much!  We went on walks together, played with each other, and she did an amazing job of making dinner extra yummy :)  I can't wait to see her again soon!!

Well, I'm sorry it has been awhile since I've updated, but Mommy and I have been really busy lately (she went back to school you know.  She's been studying like crazy!).  I'll try to update more :)

Love,
Thaya

I just keep growing...

It has been awhile because my family and I have been very busy!  We spent a week in Myrtle Beach, and when we got back, we took day trips to NYC, the beach, and the park.  I also spent some time at school while my Mommy worked.  I'm not going anymore though, because Mommy decided that she would rather finish school.  I'm not complaining, it means I get to spend the days with her, and she'll go to class while I'm asleep with Daddy.  I'm glad she is going at night, I miss her too much during the day.

Img_1501

Our trip to Myrtle Beach was fantastic.  It was very hot and muggy, but the sun was shining every day, so I got to wear a whole bunch of cute hats :)  We spent a lot of time inside, but we had a great time with Nana and Grandpa.  One day we went to Build-A-Bear and Nana let me make my very own teddy bear!  I named it Myrtle (original, I know), and picked out a lullaby for her to sing to me.  I love it!

Img_1628

My first trip into NYC was great.  We met up with my Mommy's friend Jocelyn and at at Franchia, a vegetarian sushi restaurant and tea room.  It was delicious!  It was so nice meeting Jocelyn, she is so much fun!

Img_1609

We also went to the Guggenheim, but I slept through it.  Mommy and Daddy had a blast though!

Img_1638_2

We finished the day with a trip to Central Park.  It was amazing.  It was so beautiful, the sun was shining, there was a breeze, and there were tons of other babies for me to look at.  I loved every minute of it.  I hope we can go back again soon!

In other news, I had my four month check-up.  I wasn't feeling so hot after this one.  I got four shots, and they seemed to hurt a lot more this time, the doctor even told my Mommy and Daddy to give me a little extra Tylenol because it was so painful.  I even had to stay home from school the next day.  I toughed it out though, and I feel much better now.

The doctor was in a rush, and I was cranky, so I only know my new weight.  I'm not sure how tall I've gotten or how much my head has grown.  I am now 12.5 lbs, that is up 2 pounds from my last visit!  The doctor is so proud of me, and says to keep on growing!

I have some videos to share, but now is not a good time.  I'll try to update more by the weekend.

I hope you all had a happy holiday, and are looking forward to the new school year!

Love,
Thaya Rose
