WIPs and FOs
Can you believe that it has been a year already? Man, that was traumatic. If it has been a year for the surgery, that means it's also been a year since my birthday. 25 on Friday. A quarter of a century? Phew. I feel like I've accomplished a lot in that time at least :)
Thaya was baptized on Sunday. You may recall that I was determined to make her gown and bonnet. After about 5 times of casting on (come on, 480 is a lot of stitches) finally got it right. It took me a week to do 10 inches of the dress, and with only a week to do 20 more inches and the body, I threw in the towel and decided to go with something a little more realistic.
The sweater is Daydream by Kim Hargreaves from Rowan Babies. The bootees are the Lace & Diamond Bootees from Zoe Mellor's 50 Baby Bootees to Knit. The bonnet is my own pattern. I used RYC Cashsoft DK in Bloom. There were no modifications to the bootees or the sweater. The bonnet was my first "design" and I love it. It comes to a cute little point in the back and Thaya looked like a little pixie angel :)
Christmas knitting is well underway.
So far I've completed about 2/3 of Clapotis using up my Primero from Brooks Farms. I'm not sure who it is going to go to just yet. I'm also planning on using up some stash by making Fetching and Dashing and maybe even Wisp. I've had a request for a pair of black mittens, but have no black yarn in the stash so we'll see about those. I also want to use up my extra balls of Rowan Cork for a gift for my brother-in-law, but I'm not sure how. Any suggestions? I'm thinking a chunky pair of mitts maybe.

Thaya's outfit is beautiful! Even without seeing the other babies, I have no doubts she was "best dressed baby"...If I ever have a girl, I am putting in my order now!

Love the sweater set. It's very pretty.
I hope you have as much fun knitting the clapotis as I did. It is one of my favorite projects.
