So long

So long, and thanks for all the views.

It's true.

I'm leaving.

But only for a week.  We've packed up everything (don't worry, we're still short the kitchen sink), and we're leaving today at 4:30 for Myrtle Beach.  I've never been there myself, but my parents have a time share there and love it.  I'm really looking forward to our "vacay".  We're going to be spending the week there with Nana and Grandpa, who also have a time share there.  I can't wait!  We realized last night that we haven't had a vacation since Disney.  Yup, March 2006!  Phew, this is much needed.  Of course I managed to get sick this week.  Both the throw-up kind and the head cold kind.  Right now, my head feels like it is in a vice.  I'm a little uneasy about taking anything because of the nursing, but I figure the stress of being sick is probably worse than whatever would pass to her, so I'm going to give in and call the doctor.

Before I go, I would like to leave you with a few things.

Steph had her Bridal Shower last Saturday.  We had such a good time.  It was the start of Thaya's poop strike, but I won't hold it against you, Steph :)  I love this picture, Thaya loves her so much, she is so amazing with kids (of all ages!).  It's nice to have people in your life who you can really trust with your baby (and everything else, of course).  I'm not sure what Thaya is looking at in this picture, but she is really diggin' it, whatever it is.  Maybe it was that fun hat that Steph was wearing earlier...

I know I promised a picture of the sweater I made for Matt.  I took one, but it's not on this camera!  You'll just have to trust me.

And finally, a question.  Have you ever started a project and proceeded to completely forget about it?  Apparently I did.  I was packing up my "knitting kits" for my trip this week (if you want your life to be more organized, have a baby - it may be messier, you may be covered in milk and pureed pears, but you'll be stickin' to a tight itinerary, thats for sure), and I discovered that I started the Matinee Coat with the never ending supply of Baby Cashmerino that I have leftover from the Shawl I made after my appendectomy.  I guess I can finish it during the 13 hour drive to SC :)

And, since not all of you will stop over at Thaya's Blog, I'd like to ask here too... when you started your babyies on food, what were there favorite fruits and veggies?  Thaya sure loves the pears we've been giving her!

See you on the other side of next week!

awwww! So sweet! Have a great vacation girl!
Congrats on your 3rd year anniversary too : )

Love the pinwheel ;0) Thaya looks super cute in it too!

When we started Julian on food, his favourite of all the cereals was oatmeal, though they all went in ok ! He hated bananas and LOVED green peas! Go figure. We started him on cereal first, then went through most of the veggies before introducing the fruit. I had read somewhere that if you introduce the fruits first, they take a liking to the sweetness and tend to reject veggies later. Makes sense to me. So that's what we did.

He's just over 2 now and can't get enough bananas, chick peas and lemons! That's right, lemons. What a funny little guy ;0)

Logan is just turning 5 months so we're going to tough him out for another month before introducing solids. I'm curious to see what his favourites will be...

She's getting so big already!

Scout's absolute favorite are bananas. She loves nanas! But she also likes the mixed berries and fruit that has plums. Her favorite veggie is sweet potatoes. She's never been too keen on the green stuff.

And as far as pooping goes, my pediatrician told me as long as the baby is still gaining weight it's ok. They had a little one that hadn't gone for 10 days! :O

For some reason the last comment didn't post??? Not sure why...essentially the c was: Thaya makes the greatest faces!!!! Also, great job on the FOs!!! A whole sweater for DH!!! I have a tendency to knit part of a sweater and then get distracted by a new project lol... Have a great vaca :)

She always has the sweetest faces! I'm impressed with the FO! I have a tendency to get halfway there an then get distracted by a new project lol...Have fun on your trip!

Carrots, squash, and sweetpotatoes! The kid ate so much beta-carotene rich food he turned orange. Really puzzled the pediatrician.

My son liked sweet potatoes, bananas, pears... didn't like green stuff. Boy, that starts at a young age! ha ha...

One thing he liked for a long time (I'll tell you since you're a nursing mom, too) was the rice cereal made with mama milk. He couldn't get enough of it. Sometimes to test if he would like a new food, I would mix in a little bit of it into my mama milk cereal. It helped me to gauge if he would consider eating it stand-alone.

Hope you have a great vacation! Sounds like a lot of fun, and with other family there, hopefully you'll get to have a date night with your hubby. They can really help to recharge things.

Have a great time on your vacation! It sounds wonderful!

Bear's favorite puree's were carrots, sweet potatoes, green beans, and blueberry. She still LOVES green beans, and vegetables in general. The other night, she took a celery stick off my plate and ate the whole thing. Show me one other 2 year old that turns away chicken nuggets for celery sticks.

I love your pinwheel sweater. Such beautiful colors!

Have a wonderful vacation!
