This Pregnancy...

Quick Rant...

Most women get nausea, morning sickness, heartburn, and swelling.  What do I get?

Extreme fatigue, nausea, heartburn, bloating, swelling, acid reflux, headaches, and hemorrhoids... but is that it?  Ooooooh no... because all of that on its own I can deal with.  Its the other stuff that is starting to wear on my already irritable and exhausted good, upbeat nature.  I also had appendicitis and therefor an appendectomy, an upper respiratory infection, and two colds that kept me out of work for a week each.  Is that the end?  Of course not.  10 weeks left and now I have kidney stones.

Nothing like waking up with the same pain as I was having with the appendicitis, only to go to the bathroom and pee the color of Hawaiian punch.

What else could happen in 10 weeks?  I'm sure it will happen to me...

ZzzzZZzZz

I'm exhausted so this is a quick update.

The finishing touches are going into the baby room.  Just got the mattress tonight, its nice to see the crib together!  We're just waiting to hang a few things, add a rug and bench, and hang an overhead light.  I'm so proud of us, we really hauled ass on putting this room together and we love how it came out.  Let's just hope Thaya likes pink!

Img_0422I cast on and starting knitting away on this cabled baby blanket.  I'm using Rowan Calmer which knits up sort of like a DK weight yarn (which the pattern calls for) but it is super light weight because its this springy kind of cotton stuff.  I love it. Its soft and cuddley.

Img_0418I think it is safe to say that only my kitty is as tired as I am right now (and all those other pregnant ladies or mommies who just had their babies...) so I'm loggin off and going to bed.  Yea, its 7:30 and frankly, I don't give a damn.

Sick Day

Sick Day, Snow Day, whatever you want to call it, it's a home day.  I have been home since Monday mid-day.  DH has been home yesterday and today.  I'd be excited if we weren't both gross, sniffling, and coughing.  We each have our own ends of the couch, and it is going to stay that way.

Oh my end of the couch, I've been doing this...

Playing Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend

And somewhere in the middle, we've had a kitty doing this...

I don't know what this bug is, but I hope you don't get it.  If it is serious enough to keep DH from going into work for 2 days straight, its really serious.  The man has taken 2 sick days (now bringing him to 4) in the past year and a half.

Stay healthy and happy knitting

Quickie

I did a lot of work on the nursery today.  Ok, I did some work, and my mom did a lot of work.  I haven't been feeling well, so I did more rocking than working.  Anyway, this is what our joint efforts accomplished.

Img_0393Img_0394I think that it is safe to say that DH and I aren't the only ones who are happy with the room...

Baby Baby!

Img_0376 Img_0380Little girl is getting bigger, and so am I!  I went to the OB last week and she said, "What are you growing in there, a gorilla?!"  Which was followed by, "Wow, sweetie... You are going to have a big baby!"  I'm ok with that.  It means she'll fit into all the cute summer dresses that we got for her.
This weekend was my baby shower.  We all really had a blast.  I was too caught up in the moment to take any pictures, but I'm sure I'll recieve some in my email to post soon.  Among the generous and amazing gifts were a child sized soccer jersey from my home town from my old coach.  He actually had her name and number put on the back!  I also recieved a machine knit wrap around sweater from a friend who works for a designer in NYC.  I received some of the cutest clothes I've ever seen, two pairs of baby uggs, a beautiful photo album, a shopping cart handle bar cover, baby baths in two sizes, my crib set (yay!!) and various crib accessories.  I also got some of the coolest diaper bags I've ever seen, and super soft boppy head supports and a changing pad cover.  I LOVE everything!

I finished DH socks, he loves them!Img_0383

Nothing like 100% merino to warm my handsome man's tootsies!

Img_0385 I have some extra yarn left, probably just enough for a mathcing pair of socks for our little girl.  Just have to find the right pattern... I've never made baby socks before!

Img_0387
I also have enough RYC Cashsoft DK for a baby blanket.  I just need to decide what blanket I'm going to make.  I was thinking of just doing stripes, garter, knit, seed, purl, garter, knit, seed, purl, etc... but I'm not sure.  Any DK baby blanket suggestions?

Happy Knitting!
And try not to catch the cold / sinus infection I have... it sucks.
